The first big winter storm about 500 miles off the coast of California gave the local surfers a real treat.

This surfer lost his surfboard as a large wave swallowed him.

Interesting conflict in this image. colors are bright and happy, but the sunk surfer looks like a dead body floating, not a happy site at all...
